TOUR CONDITIONS On the Wild India & Nepal Wildlife Safari with WCS Air Transportation: Round trip economy-class jet transportation from New York to New Delhi. Rates are based on special promotional group fares and are subject to cancellation fees once tickets are issued. International air passage will be provided on one of Air India, United Airlines, British Airways, Air France or Lufthansa. Airline Seating: The airline issues a block of seats in non-smoking for the group. Requests for seating can be made at the time of check-in when boarding passes are issued at the airport. Accommodations: The finest accommodations will be provided at the lodges / camps in the national parks and five-star hotels in the cities, and are based on two persons sharing a twin-bedded room with private facilities. Single Supplement: When available, single supplement is $1,120 for the base safari package and $300 for the Agra & Taj Mahal Extension. For passengers who are travelling alone and wish to share a room with another tour member, we will do our best to provide a roommate. However, if this is not possible, you will be required to pay the single room supplement. Wildlife Viewing: Most wildlife viewing will be done by open jeeps. The jeep sizes are different in India and Nepal seating from 4-6 people in each. In addition to jeep drives wildlife viewing will be done from elephant-back in Nepal and by boat in Nagarhole and guided nature walks will be offered as well as sittings at watch-towers (machans). The naturalist escort will organize specific daily activities for tour members. Sightseeing: Transportation for city sightseeing will be provided in air-conditioned mini coach with local guides. Please note that tripods are not allowed at many historical monuments (including the Taj Mahal) in India. Camera Fees: The national parks charge varying fees for still and video cameras ($20-$40 for the whole safari per camera). These fees are payable directly by tour members. Also, at the Taj Mahal, video cameras are not allowed and need to be stored in lockers at the gate. Other Fees, Tips & Taxes: Tips for baggage handling & drivers, service charges and taxes imposed by hotels, and entrance to all parks and city sights as outlined in the itinerary are included. U.S. and foreign airport taxes are not included. Gratuity to the naturalist escort is not included and at the discretion of the tour members. Naturalist Escort & WCS Leader: Your naturalist escort is Toby Sinclair (see description in itinerary) - if for any reason, he can not travel he will be appropriately substituted. On tours of 10-15 people, the group will be escorted by a leader from WCS in addition to the naturalist escort. Inoculations: It is strongly recommended that tour members purchase bottled water for drinking. No vaccinations are required for India or Nepal unless you have traveled to a yellow-fever area. Detailed health recommendation will be provided. For updated information, call the Center for Disease control in Atlanta. Rates: All rates quoted are based on tariffs and value of foreign currencies in relation to the U.S. dollar in effect as of May 31, 1998, and are subject to change. A minimum of 11 passengers is required for travel on the base safari and 4 on the Agra & Taj Mahal extension. The right is reserved to levy a surcharge if minimum is not met. Payment Schedule: A deposit of $500 per person must be submitted by check with each application. Final payment by check is due no later than 60 days prior to departure. Deviations: Should additional reservations be required, including extensions in India and/or Nepal, Rare Earth Explorations will be happy to make all the arrangements. However, there will be an extra charge of $150 per person for such deviations, over and above the cost of the services required. Deviations on air after 90 days prior to departure are subject to an additional fee of $200 per person. Cancellations: All cancellations must be made in writing to Rare Earth Explorations, Inc. The per person cancellation charges on the land costs are as follows: Up to 90 days prior to departure/$250; 89-60 days/$750; 59-45 days/50%; 44-0 days/100% of tour cost. There is no refund should you leave the safari early for any reason. These cancellation fees are also in addition to those indicated in the preceding section on airfares. Trip cancellation insurance is strongly recommended. Information will be sent to you upon receipt of application.
