About Rare Earth Explorations
Rare Earth Explorations specializes in the personalized planning of wildlife safaris for those who want to travel comfortably and explore the natural world with expert professional guides. We offer some select scheduled departures if you choose to travel in a group and design safaris for those who wish to take a custom safari.
Over the last ten years I, Nina Rao, have traveled frequently through the national parks and game reserves of east and southern Africa, and India. From 1990 to 1995 I was Vice President and General Manager of an African tour operator based in New York. In order to plan the optimal safari for our clients, I have explored the national parks and game reserves of Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Mocambique, and India on over 20 safaris. In 1995, I founded Rare Earth Explorations and added safaris in India to our portfolio of safaris. As a native of India, I have a special desire to promote sustainable tourism to the parks there. I am also a member on a team of experienced safari consultants that created the onsafari.com Web site, acknowledged as the most comprehensive source of African safari information on the Internet.
Population pressures and our material needs have destroyed vast wilderness areas at a rapid pace over the past decades and it continues to happen. We are fortunate that some of these areas have been preserved as habitat and we are still able to observe the precious wildlife that resides there. In some parts of Africa, tourism makes the existence of wilderness areas economically viable however some parks (especially in India) need outright protection and to that end we contribute a portion of the safari proceeds to the Saving Wild Tigers for India. sitemap
